Students can register through the CHS Patient Portal; Getting the flu shot is more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic
Cougar Health Services is offering flu shots every Friday through October starting today.
Students can make an appointment for a flu shot through the CHS Patient Portal. Staff and their families can book an appointment through the Range Community Clinic, depending on the CHS website.
Flu shots will be provided on October 1, October 15 and October 22 at the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center. The rest of Flu Fridays will be at the Chinook Student Center, according to the website.
People should stay home if they have been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or if they are showing symptoms, according to the website.
People should bring their CougarCard or photo ID and proof of insurance to the appointment, according to the website. If someone does not have insurance, they can call the CHS billing office.
Getting the flu shot is more crucial than ever with COVID-19 still present. Cases of COVID-19 and influenza can overwhelm hospitals, according to the website. Plus, people could test positive for COVID-19 and have the flu at the same time. Getting the flu shot can help reduce both of these things.
